Submissions, acceptances, rejections

The Frontiers collaborative review objectively certifies quality, validity and rigor of research. It is performed by an external editorial board of researchers, assisted by our peer review team and powered by our custom-built open science platform, featuring our artificial intelligence review assistant (AIRA). The review mandate does not focus on potential impact, nor are artificial acceptance or rejection rates imposed. Within this framework, the rejection rate for 2020 was on average 37% across all Frontiers journals, and up to 53% in some fields.
